Tips on How to Use Silicone Molds
If you're just starting to learn about how to use silicone molds, we've learned some helpful tips & tricks along the way:
- Before first use, wash your products with warm soapy water or pop them into the dishwasher to clean
- Silicone molds are naturally non-stick, but we like to coat them with non-stick cooking spray sometimes especially if the mixture or ingredient used is sticky (there is no need if using tempered chocolate)
- Silicone can withstand temperatures between -40 to 450 degrees Fahrenheit, which means they can be placed in the oven; but, they’re not invincible! Make sure you don't place products directly on any heat source like a grill, open flame, burner or stove top
- Silicone is flexible, so putting your silicone molds on a cookie sheet or cutting board will make it easier to move them from one place to another
- Don’t use sharp objects on the silicone! You wouldn’t want to accidentally cut or pierce through your molds
Once you're ready to clean your silicone molds, simply wash them in the dishwasher or let them soak in warm soapy water. After you've let them soak for a bit, rub away any residues, rinse with water, and dry on the dish rack. They’re now clean and ready to be used for your next creation!
